HEARTLAND SOCCER ASSOCIATION CONTINUES TO GROW
2015 Fall League is the largest to date!
The Overland Park Soccer Complex, Heritage Soccer Park and Swope Soccer Village will be very busy this fall.
Every season, Heartland Soccer Association grows tremendously, and this fall is no exception. League registration is complete and we are pleased to announce that we will be representing 1,265 teams and nearly 20,000 players this season. This is about an 85-team increase since the spring. Heartland league has grown by approximately 700 teams in a decade.
And this is just league play; the association also holds some of the nation's largest youth soccer tournaments. This upcoming year, we will be adding another tournament, which will be a total of nine tournament weekends in a nine month span.
So looking at some total numbers, when you add up league and tournaments, Heartland will host nearly 3,500 teams this year.
League play begins August 7th. We look forward to another successful soccer season!

ON-GOING SUPPORT FOR HEARTLAND REFEREES
-
Heartland Soccer Association has created a Referee Development Academy Program to help young referees learn and develop, much like the youth players on the field. We provide training, guidance and mentoring for young referees. Each season, every RDAP Referee is assessed by a Referee Mentor or RDAP staff member both on the field of play and in a follow up meeting. RDAP staff work with referees to better understand the complexities of the game, develop and improve. Additionally regular training and recognition meetings are held during the soccer season.
-
The local professional teams (Sporting Kansas City, FC Kansas City, and Missouri Comets) also support Heartland referees with special appreciation events and seminars with game-day officials.
SPECIAL INCENTIVE
Dick's Sporting Goods also supports Heartland's goal to find and train new referees. The first 100 new referees to complete their first Heartland game this fall will receive a Dick's Bonus Certificate worth $10.
