 2014 YOUTH NATIONALS IN BALTIMORE
CONGRATULATIONS TO TWO LOCAL BOYS TEAMS

U19 BILLY GOAT FC
Congratulations to head coach Abdullah Parker and the entire Billy Goat team. The last three and a half years haven't been easy for Billy Goat FC. From coping with cancer of a teammate to another teammate's death, this team has had many hardships at a very young age. "It wasn't easy. There were days when we just really didn't want to play- we didn't want to be around. But, I think we also helped each other by being around one another as well. So it's a very satisfying feeling when a group of boys at 16 or 17 can act mature, but also show emotion. They leaned on each other quite a bit," Abdullah said. Through all the adversity, this team has come together and has seen some great success the past couple of years, including this season. After being crowned regional champions, this team has the opportunity to head to Baltimore to make their dreams come true. It would be an understatement to say that this team deserves to become Kansas City's own national champions. Help cheer on Billy Goat as they will face the New Jersey PDA Harkes on Tuesday July 22nd. Good luck boys!

U14 SPORTING KC ACADEMY

From Kansas State Champs to Regional Champs, Sporting KC Academy's U14 team is looking forward to heading to Baltimore at the end of July. Head coach Matt Trumpp hopes to lead this young group of guys to a national championship. Of the 15 players, 5 of them are actually U13 players. Trumpp says "Winning is important, but it's not really the paramount thing. We try to develop players. Winning is a part of that process, but we really want to push kids up." Trumpp has seen his 15 players develop quite a bit as the season went on. It was a slow start for Sporting KC Academy, but in the 2nd half of the season, the team really clicked. "These are very technical, smart soccer players. They come to work every day and that's kind of all we ask of them," Trumpp said. We wish this entire team the best of luck in Baltimore. Continue to make Kansas City proud! They will face Georgia's United FA Elite on July 22nd. Best of luck!
