Heartland Soccer Teams Up with the American Lung Association to Raise Lung Health Awareness

Heartland Youth Soccer Association will spotlight asthma and vaping awareness during three major soccer tournaments

Olathe, Kan. September 16, 2024 – This fall, Heartland Soccer is joining forces with the American Lung Association and The Rub Bar B Que to kick lung disease and raise awareness for lung health. As the largest youth soccer league and tournament host in the U.S., Heartland Soccer sees millions of visitors annually and is proud to support this important cause.

Throughout three major soccer tournaments, youth and parents will learn about asthma, the dangers of vaping, and the importance of clean air. Those who donate a minimum of $5 to the Lung Association will receive a coupon for a free pulled pork sandwich from The Rub Bar-B-Que. Heartland will also be selling wristbands, teal ribbon pins, and raffle tickets at each tournament to support lung health research. All proceeds go directly to the American Lung Association.

“This is a thrilling new opportunity for the Lung Association to reach youth and parents about our mission to promote healthy lungs and lifestyles,” said Linda Crider, executive director of the Lung Association of Kansas and Greater Kansas City. “We’re excited to be part of a fan-favorite event in the Greater Kansas City area.”

Bridgette Samuelson, Heartland Soccer’s Director of Partnership Development and Operations, added, “We’re thrilled to partner with the American Lung Association to bring attention to such an important issue.”
